A highland fling

our wee adventure on the Black Isle

Recovery’s a bitch

We’re bored here at Casa Tyr. Bored stiff. Bored stupid. Just bored.

OK, so there are tons of things to do, so many that it (almost) stresses me out sometimes! We have Lujos to make. Rotovating. Vegetables to plant. Olive trees to prune. Crops to harvest. Preserving to do.

We are doing what we can, given the fact that I am still recovering from knee surgery, and Kenton is only 3 weeks out from his back surgery. We have actually managed to preserve loads of tomatoes, freeze peppers, make salsas and sauces, dry chillies. And we have managed to keep Lujos customers happy, too. So we’re doing the best we can, really.

But it is soooooo hard. We are used to being able to do any thing we want, any time we want. Go out for a beer. Take a trip to the coast. Wander down the mountain. Not consider whether we’re “up to it”, like the walking wounded we feel!

Anyhoo, let’s not dwell on the down side. We are fine, the ops went well, and it’s only a matter of weeks before we are “as good as new” (ish).

So to cheer us all up, here are a couple of new photos, taken by Kenton today. It’s a very autumnal day, windy and cool, and the chestnuts are just starting to pop out of their spiny husks. Enjoy.
