The Royal Wedding

Aha! There, I got ya! This post actually has nothing to do with a wedding, royal or not, but my friends tell me that nothing other than news/posts about the wedding will be read today.

So cheat I did.

I’m actually writing to tell you the amazing story of our morning. There we were, peacefully enjoying a cup of coffee (thanks, Hasbean). There was a knock on the door. (Now to most of you, this is not a strange occurrence, but when you live 4 K away from the village, and up a very rutted dirt track, a knock on the door is a pretty rare thing.)

The dogs (as always) go nuts when they see someone they don’t know. Or when they see someone they do know! At the door was our friend Manuel, and a stranger (gasp!).

Are you Kenton Smith?

He asks. Well, yes, says Kenton. “Then I have a parcel for you”.

Whew. When seeing a stranger at the door, our first thought was “what have we done now” ?? He did look pretty official, and that is never a good thing!

Manuel then told us that the guy had shown up in the village, at Manuel’s house. (we often use his address as our delivery address, as we have no official postal address!). He said he could not just leave the parcel at the house, he had to put it into the hands of Kenton Smith. So Manuel says “OK, off we go, I’ll show you where he lives!”

The poor guy had no way of knowing that it was up a track on top of a mountain! His poor car brushed a rock and lost some tread from the side of his tire. Then, they couldn’t make it up the last bit of the track so had to walk.

But hand it directly to Kenton he did! Now that is impressive service! And we can no longer say that no one delivers to Casa Tyr!

  1. hey, what was in the package?:)

I thought I was the only one who didn’t care to hear about the royal wedding for weeks. About 15 minutes of wedding coverage would have been fine by me!
