A highland fling

our wee adventure on the Black Isle

Olive harvest, day 6

Today was almost the end of me! No, nothing serious, I just found it incredibly difficult. The terrain was awful – both very hilly, and full of rocks. Hence my right knee and ankle were complaining all day!

But it was a good day despite my problems! We picked about 140 kilos, and once again the olives were gorgeous. And the trees full of them! And it was sunny, warm, with blue skies, and no wind! You really couldn’t ask for better weather for working outdoors, even though such a warm day in December seems very odd to us.

2 more days to go, then we are finished with the first press. Roll on, Christmas!

  1. Glorious sunshine yesterday, picking in shirtsleeves. Miserable, cold misty and windy today. Welcome to mountain weather !

  2. Hey lujos are you still knackered from the harvesting? No new posts for a few days.

    • Yeah, still knackered but also busy! Sorry – Peg has mentioned it too, and I know people worry if they don’t hear from me!

      Are you ready for Christmas?
