After planting some of our tomatoes today, and after Kenton rotovated the new bottom garden, and after I did some more weeding, I decided to do a little light work.
So, I started collecting for our Lujos products. I collected chamomile flowers and lavender heads, and put them in the greenhouse to dry. Tomorrow, I will collect some more of each until we think we have enough to last us until next year. I’ve also planted calendula to put in the soaps, lotions and creams, as it is said to have wonderful soothing and healing properties.
What Lujos products, you ask? Good question. We are forming a small online sales business, selling products made by us, with (mostly) products from our land.
Handmade soap is a biggie, made with natural ingredients, no animal products or artifical colors or scents. We will also be selling face cream, lotion, under eye cream and so on. All the lotions and potions that we love. The soft launch of the website is July-ish and the full launch in August or September – so you’ve heard the news here first!
One of my favorite soaps is scented with amber and lavender, and has lavender bits in it for gentle exfoliation. It doesn’t dry your skin like commercial soaps do (they strip out the glycerin when making their soap, in order to use the glycerin in other products). It has a lovely light scent, and the lavender bits really do work to gently exfoliate.
