…the prodigal returns

Back where we came from, reluctant returnees.

Think creative!

We were going to go down into the forest this morning and cut down a huge pine tree, honest! We woke up to a sunny, bright day – at least the view down to Malaga coast seemed to indicate that!

Look behind the house over the mountains towards Ronda, however, and it was another story. Thick, dark clouds threatened. I check the weather station in the office – rain forecast. I check online (zoover.co.uk) – 55% chance of rain. Hmmm.

We decide to have breakfast, and hold off on a decision. I don’t put the towels in the laundry. Wise move! An hour later, the wind picked up and we had rain. So what to do now!?

We decided to get busy in the kitchen. We made amber and lavender scented soap, and threw in some lavender heads collected and dried last summer. The soap is now in the molds, and looks and smells wonderful! I have high hopes for this batch.

After that, I played apothecary. I tried new recipes for chocolate lip balm, rose cream glycerin soap and cocoa butter anti-aging  eye cream. They all look pretty good, except that next time I will leave the rose petals out of the soap, as they made the bar go a funny color!
